Trisha Krishnan is the latest to join Rajinikanth’s film with Karthik Subbaraj. The announcement was made earlier today by the film’s producer, Sun Pictures. The actress has a central role in the movie, according to a spokesperson and will start shooting for the film soon.

Apart from Rajinikanth, the film already boasts a star cast of Vijay Sethupathi, Bobby Simhaa, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Simran and Sananth (who was also a part of Karthik’s previous film Mercury). Anirudh Ravichander composes the music while Peter Heinz is in charge of the stunt direction.
Sananth and Bobby Simhaa reportedly play Rajinikanth’s sons in the movie. Megha Akash has also been confirmed to star.
Reports that Trisha would join the project have been in circulation for a while now. Beyond The Clouds actor Malavika Mohana, daughter of cinematographer Mohanan, was also rumoured to be a part of the film. However, no official announcement has been made on it yet.

The film doesn’t have a title as yet. A first look of the project is likely to be unveiled on Deepavali this year. A spokesperson for the project confirmed that around 40 per cent of the film has been canned. The shooting for the film is expected to go on in Darjeeling for a few more days. Sources from the team tell us that the release date of the film will be decided once the release of Rajinikanth’s film with Shankar, 2.0, is announced.
Last seen in the horror thriller Mohini, Trisha also has a lead role in 96. She will be seen alongside Vijay Sethupathi in this film as well.
