A source close to the film told Silverscreen that the title has not been finalised yet. According to a Cinema Express report, Sugar is one of the titles considered. “Since the production house was until recently busy with the release of Gorilla, they have not had the time to finalise the title of this project yet. An official announcement can be expected by mid-August,” the source said.

It was recently announced that Abhinay Vaddi, actors Gemini Ganesan and Savitri’s grandson, will also star in the lead as a swimmer, and is paired opposite Simran. He is back to acting after the 2014 film Ramanujan and Chennai 600028: II Innings.

Jagapathi Babu and comedian Sathish are also part of the cast. Santhosh Dayanidhi is the music composer and Saravanan Ramasamy is the cinematographer of the film.

The film was announced in February. A statement from producer Vijayaraghavendra of All In Pictures said, “The story is a first of its kind attempt and the actresses will undergo intense marine training before we kick start production. The shoot will take place in Chennai, Kerala, Pichavaram and Thailand.”

This is the director’s second film after Sadhuram 2. Trisha has previously played an action role opposite Kamal Haasan in Thoongavanam. Simran’s role in Gautham Menon’s Dhruva Natchathiram is said to be action-heavy.
