Trisha To Be Called ‘Padayappa Trisha’ In Nayaki

She might be 50 films old, but Trisha is about to get an on screen moniker for the first time in her career with her next film, the Tamil-Telugu bilingual Nayaki. Director Govi Goverdhan told Hans India that he used to call Trisha ‘Padayappa’ after the 1999 film starring Rajinikanth and Sivaji Ganesan. “Since she’s both our hero and heroine in the film, I was calling her that. After a point, I decided to tag Padayappa before her name in the title credits. Initially, I sent feelers to fans on social networking sites. They’ve been responding positively and are excited with the tag. That clinched the issue, once and for all,” said Govi.

Nayaki is a horror and will feature Trisha in a completely new avatar. Trisha sports a retro-80s look in the film’s posters. Nayaki is being produced by Giridhar Production House. Govi Goverdhan has also written the story, screenplay, and dialogues for the film. Along with Trisha, Nayaki stars Ganesh Venkatraman, Jayaprakash, and Brahmanandam. The film has music by Raghu Kunche.
