A few days ago, at a red carpet event for the New York Fashion Week, funnyman Jim Carrey gave a rather bizarre interview to E Online. Talking about how “we don’t matter”, Carrey went on an existential rant about life, people, and the futility of all this.
Hovering around the host, Carrey is asked if he wants a date or someone, considering he has been wandering around the street. “No no no. I’m doing just fine. I just… uh there is no meaning to any of this. I wanted to find the most meaningless event I could join. You have to admit, it’s pretty meaningless,” he responds, baffling the host.
The actor continues to repeat how none of this really matters. “Celebrating icons? Oh boy, that is just the lowest aiming possibility that we could come up with. Icons. Do you believe in icons? I believe in personalities. I don’t believe that you exist but there is a wonderful fragrance in the air. I don’t believe in icons. I don’t believe in personalities. I believe that peace lies beyond personality, beyond invention and disguise. I believe we’re a field of energy dancing for itself. And I don’t care.”

Has anybody considered that maybe Jim Carrey is acting crazy because he’s being taken over by a haunted mask?

Jim Carrey has transcended the universe and left us behind. I’m surprised he didn’t show up to the event in his true form like: pic.twitter.com/ofMA6j1gQP
