The release of debutant director Srinath Ramalingam’s horror film Unakkenna Venum Sollu has been postponed to September 25. The film was originally scheduled to release on September 17 along with Vijay’s Puli. However, after Puli’s release was postponed, Trisha Illana Nayanthara, Maya, and 49-O booked the September 17 date. Among the upcoming releases, Maya starring Aari and Nayanthara is also a horror film and it is likely that the makers of Unakkenna Venum Sollu wanted to avoid competition with a film from the same genre.
Unakkenna Venum Sollu, formerly titled Daisy, revolves around motherhood and social preconceptions. The cast includes a number of newcomers including Deepak Paramesh, Jaqlene Prakash, Gunalan Morgan and Mourhrna Anetha Reddy. Produced by Juna Pictures, the film will be distributed in over 150 or 200 theatres by Mahesh of Auraa Cinemas.
