Vada Chennai: Aishwarya Rajesh In, Amala Paul Out

In what is possibly the third change in the casting of the female lead, Aishwarya Rajesh has replaced Amala Paul in Dhanush’s Vada Chennai. Earlier, Samantha Ruth Prabhu had reportedly been the film’s first choice. Vada Chennai is directed by Vetri Maaran.

Amala has stepped out citing date issues. A report in the Times of India cites a source close to the production team saying,  “Amala Paul couldn’t be part of the film because she had other prior commitments. When the team started the shoot recently, she couldn’t join the crew due to this.”

Aishwarya Rajesh and Andrea will now play the leads in the film. Aishwarya has reportedly already began shooting for the film.

Meanwhile, Aishwarya is also shooting for Gautham Menon’s Dhruva Natchathiram opposite Vikram. Her latest release was the Malayalam movie Sakhavu, where she was seen alongside Nivin Pauly.
