Vadivelu: “We Have To Learn From Kaththi Sandai’s Failure”

Vadivelu says he has not been approached for Rajinikanth’s 2.0. Speaking to Silverscreen, he said,  “I am flattered to see the interest among public for another film with me and Rajini sir. But, I have not been approached for the film now.”

His comeback film as comic actor Kaththi Sandai released this weekend. The film has received mostly negative reviews, a fact that greatly disappointed Vadivelu. He said, “I was really excited for this film to win. It would have been nice to taste victory after such a long time. But the audience have spoken, and we cannot do anything except learn from this.”

Vadivelu has better hopes of his other film, the Tamil remake of Shivalinga. He said, “I have a great comic role in this film. I will also appear throughout the film. My character has given me some potential to act, and I am looking forward to it.”

When asked to comment on director Suraj’s recent sexist remarks about film actresses, Vadivelu pleaded ignorance. He said, “I have not watched the video. But people have been talking about it. I cannot speak about it till I see for myself.”

Vadivelu’s next release is P Vasu directed Shivalingaa. Starring Ragava Lawrence and Ritika Singh, the film will release in mid-2017.
