After Padmavati, now there is protest against Salman Khan’s Tiger Zinda Hai. Members of the Valmiki community in Rajasthan disrupted the screening of the film in many cinema halls across the state on Friday in protest against Salman Khan for allegedly using a derogatory word during the film’s promotions.

The actor had allegedly used the word ‘bhangi’ while describing his dance skills and Shilpa Shetty, who was also on the television show, used the word as well. Valmiki is made up of Dalit communities which includes Bhangi.

The film’s posters were burnt, theatres vandalised in several places in Rajasthan. An FIR has also been lodged against Salman and Shilpa.

Ali Abbas Zaffar’s sequel of Ek Tha Tiger (2012) – Tiger Zinda Hai – features a rugged Salman Khan who is often described as an indestructible machine. His accomplice and lady love, Zoya (played by Katrina Kaif), a Pakistani spy, is seen as someone equally formidable. The film also stars Angad Bedi, Paresh Rawal, and Kannada actor Sudeep.
