Actor Varun Tej will play the lead role in Chandoo Mondeti’s next film. The movie is expected to begin production after the release of Mondeti’s upcoming film, Premam.
Reports indicate that the Varun Tej – Mondeti’s film will be a psychological thriller on the lines of Ghajini and Aparichitudu (Anniyan in Tamil). The film will be produced by Vasudeva Reddy and Rajkumar of IDream productions. The makers are on the lookout for a suitable actress to play the female lead in the project.
Varun Tej is the nephew of actors Chiranjeevi and Pawan Kalyan. He made his debut as a lead actor with Arikanth Addala’s Mukunda (2014). His next release was Krish Jagarlamuddi’s Kanche, where he played the role of a WWII soldier. His performance was appreciated while the film itself came in for much critical acclaim.
At present, Varun is busy filming Srinu Vaitla’s Mister with Lavanya Tripathi. The much delayed production is expected to complete shoot by the end of this month.

Varun Tej has also signed on to play the male lead in Shekar Kammula’s next. The film marks the Telugu debut of actress Sai Pallavi. Dil Raju will produce the movie under his Sri Venkateswara Creations banner. The movie will hit the screens during the first half of 2017.
Chandu Mondeti’s directorial debut was Karthikeya (2014). He is currently gearing up for the release of Premam, the Telugu remake of the Malayalam film of the same name. Naga Chaithanya and Shruti Haasan will reprise roles made famous by Nivin Pauly and Sai Pallavi.
