Venkat Prabhu plays an evil cop in Kalavu. The crime thriller has Kalaiyarasan and Karunakaran in the lead roles and is directed by Murali Karthick.

Murali told TNIE:
“When I approached him for the role, he was a bit apprehensive as it was a negative role. But we convinced him.”
Murali apparently penned the script based on a couple of incidents that he had read about in the newspapers. “How one incident changes the lives of the main characters is what the story is about,” he added.
Abhirami Iyer, Pandiarajan, Chinni Jayanth and Mime Gopi are also a part of the supporting cast.
