VHP Seeks Ban On Uttama Villain

The Tamil Nadu wing of Vishwa Hindu Parishad has filed a petition seeking a ban on Kamal Hassan’s Uttama Villain. The party members alleged that the lyrics of a particular song in the movie tarnishes the image of Lord Prahalad and Hiranyakashipu.

According to a report in The Hindu, the members of Vishwa Hindu Parishad, led by the party’s chief city organiser, KL Sathyamoorthi, filed a complaint with the grievance cell in Chennai on Monday. They have also announced their plans to stage protests against the makers of the movie.

Director Ramesh Aravind’s Uttama Villain, which is scheduled to hit the screens sometime in April, has Kamal Hassan, Pooja Kumar and Andrea in the lead roles. Nasser, late director KS Ravikumar, K Vishwanath, Urvashi, Parvathi Menon, Jeyaram, MS Bhaskar and Parvathi Nair are a part of the supporting cast. The film is produced by N Lingusamy and Kamal.
