Vidya Balan might be a part of the Rajinikanth – Ranjith project. A source close to the film told Silverscreen, “Vidya Balan was considered for Kabali. As she didn’t have dates, we went to Radhika Apte. Earlier this month, we spoke to Vidya again, and are in the process of making sure she joins our team. Nothing is confirmed, though.”

This is Rajinikanth’s second film with Ranjith. The duo had earlier collaborated for Kabali, which opened to a lukewarm response in August 2016. This new project is produced by Dhanush under his Wunderbar Films.
Meanwhile, Vidya Balan is currently gearing up for the release of Begum Jaan. She is also a part of Tumhari Sulu, in which she plays a radio jockey who offers relationship advice on her show.
