Traffic Ramasamy Biopic: ‘If Something Is Incorrectly Portrayed The Activist Will File A Case Against Us Too,’ Says Director

A biopic on social activist Traffic Ramasamy is in the making. Debutant director Vijay Vikram has completed major portions of the film, which has SA Chandrashekar (Vijay’s father) playing the lead. Vijay Antony also will be making a cameo in this socio-political drama.

Vijay Vikram tells Silverscreen, “The film has documented Traffic Ramaswamy’s life right from his childhood, hence we are planning to name the film after the activist. I wanted to direct a biopic of a contemporary person. Traffic Ramasamy has fought against many social evils, most of it will be covered in the biopic. His was not an easy life, he was attacked for his activism but that didn’t stop him.”

Traffic Ramasamy had denied permission to many leading filmmakers who wanted to make a biopic on him. Is he aware of this story? “Yes, if something is wrongly portrayed in the film, he will file case against us too. We met him, narrated the script and got his permission. He has been part of many discussions regarding the script,” says the director.

Vijay Antony will shoot for a cameo end of this month. “He plays himself,” informs the director.
