The Vijay Antony starrer Salim is gearing up for release on July 25. Speaking at the movie’s audio launch event today, the actor revealed that he was very hopeful of a Ramzan (weekend) release. Directed by former Bharathiraja protege NV Nirmal Kumar, the movie takes off from where Naan ended. But the director insists Salim cannot be termed a sequel. “A sequel is a movie which doesn’t make sense as a standalone. The beauty of Salim is that it is a continuation of Naan; but makes sense without it as well.”

Vijay Antony doubles up as music composer and producer for this film, which is being released by Studio Nine in association with Sri Green Pictures.
