Vijay Sethupathi Likely To Team Up With Cheran

Director Cheran, who has been on a hiatus from filmmaking, is looking to return with a film starring Vijay Sethupathi. According to a Deccan Chronicle report, the actor was thrilled with the script and is keen to get on board. The film is likely to a family drama, much like his other films.

Cheran, who is best known for his national award winning films Vetri Kodi Kattu (2000), Autograph (2004), and Thavamai Thavamirundhu (2005), last directed JK Enum Nanbanin Vaazhkai, which released in 2015. The film marked his return to directing after nearly six years, but did not do well.

This new film with Sethupathi is likely to take off very soon if the actor agrees to be a part of it. 

Meanwhile, Sethupathi is currently shooting for Vikram Vedha with Madhavan. Written and directed by Pushkar and Gayathri, the cast includes Shraddha Srinath, Kathir, John Vijay, and Varalakshmi Sarathkumar. He is also shooting for Thiagarajan Kumararaja’s Aneethi Kathaigal.

Sethupathi has a slew of projects in hand including Karuppan, a rural entertainer directed by R Paneerselvam, starring Lakshmi Menon, Bobby Simhaa, and Kishore. Soon after this, he will begin shooting for 96 with Trisha Krishnan. Directed by Prem Kumar, the cinematographer of Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom, the film is a light-hearted entertainer.
