Actors Vijay and Suriya accepted Malayalam superstar Mammootty’s My Tree Challenge. An online eco-revolution started by environmentalists Abdul Manaf and Imthias Kadeer, the revolution is part of a goodwill project to plant more trees and encourage others to do so. Mammootty, the ambassador of this goodwill venture, planted a tree sapling, posted the video on FB, and challenged Shah Rukh Khan, Suriya and Vijay to take up the cause.
According to Abdul Manaf, Vijay, who was shooting in the city, called him and expressed his interest to plant 25,000 saplings over a period of time. The actor has also nominated school children to take this cause forward. Meanwhile, Suriya who has planted a tree sapling at home, nominated Aamir Khan, Sudeep and Mahesh Babu for this eco-revolution.
