Actor Vijay, in an official statement, said that he would take a neutral stance in the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. The statement was released by the actor’s fan club ‘Vijayin Makkal Iyakkam’.
Vijay also urged the fans to vote for whomever they wished to, but not use the name or flag of the Makkal Iyakkam in election campaigns.
Earlier, it was reported that the Vellore District Vijay Fans Club urged the fans to support the DMK, as many of Vijay’s films like Thuppakki, Thalaivaa, Kaththi and Puli had ran into issues during the ADMK regime. However, the press release refuted this, and added that those who dragged Vijay’s name into such controversies would face action from the Makkal Iyakkam.
