There have been reports in speculation about the film’s opening song, but an official announcement has not been made yet. The actor has also danced with children in his previous films Theri and Mersal, by director Atlee. The songs Jithu Jilladi and Mersal Arasan in the films featured child dancers.

Recently, updates about the film’s story were reported. It is said that Thalapathy 63 is about football players who get selected to the Indian Football team, and get killed one by one. The blame falls on the coach, played by Vijay, who goes in search of the real culprit. The film is reportedly not a usual sports drama, but an investigative thriller with sports elements.

AR Rahman is the music composer. He said, “I have done films like this in Hollywood, but haven’t done one in south India. Director Atlee has seen my films like Pele and Lagaan. He is a passionate person and his sensibility in music is good. He listened to all my soundtracks and asked for a particular type of music in his film.”

Thalapathy 63 is the actor and director’s third collaboration after Theri and Mersal. It features a big star cast with Nayanathara, Kathir, Vivekh, Yogi Babu, Daniel Balaji, Anand Raj and many others. Pitched as a “mass entertainer with superior technical crew and the best production values”, the film is produced by Archana Kalapthi under the banner AGS Entertainments.

AR Rahman is the composer, and Vivek is the lyricist. Atlee has retained his previous film Mersal‘s team, with editor Antony Ruben, stunt director Anal Arasu, and art director Muthuraj. Sources suggest that Aalaporaan Tamizhan, a song from Mersal, is the title being considered.
