Vijayalakshmi has started shooting for her new film, directed by her father, Agathiyan. The yet-untitled flick also stars Santhosh Prathap, who debuted in Kathai Thiraikkathai Vasanam Iyakkam. The shooting began late last week in Coimbatore and is progressing well. It is a romantic tale set in a village, and Vijayalakshmi plays a college student who falls in love with Santhosh.
Agathiyan’s last directorial was Nenjathai Killadhe in 2008 and he spoke at length to us about his long absence. “I have been away from the field for sometime. My priorities have changed, and for a while, I took things very slowly. But the idea for this film has been in my head for a long time now. And at the rate at which it’s progressing, you could see it on screens in no time at all.”
