Vijay’s Bairavaa Awarded ‘U’ Censor Certificate

Vijay, Welfare, Farmer

As expected, Bairavaa has been awarded a ‘U’ certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) on 3 January. It remains to be seen whether the film deserves the rating, as some recent big-budget films like Kabali were awarded a ‘U’ certificate purely because of their status.

The film stars Vijay and is directed by Bharathan, who last helmed Azhagiya Tamizh Magan. Keerthy Suresh plays the female lead. The film is scheduled to release on 12 January, two days before Pongal, so as to rope in the holiday crowd.

Bairavaa has Vijay’s character righting wrongs he hasn’t previously tackled in his two-decade long acting career. With music by Santhosh Narayanan, and cinematography by M Sukumar, the project has nonetheless managed to capture the attention of Vijay’s fans, as all Vijay films do.
