Vikram Kumar To Direct Akhil Akkineni’s Next Film

Director Vikram Kumar will most likely direct Akhil Akkineni’s second film. Vikram has strong ties with the Akkineni family. He directed Manam, a rebirth drama which starred Nagarjuna, Nageswar Rao and Naga Chaithanya. Akhil and his mother, Amala guest starred in the Akkineni production. “After Manam, Nagarjuna wanted Vikram to work with his family members. He, thus, asked Vikram to come up with a script that suits Akhil,” a source told Deccan Chronicle

Interestingly, Akhil was supposed to do a film with director Hanu Raghavapudi. The actor also tweeted about it in July.

Hanu had signed a three film contract with 14 Reels production. But,Akhil wanted this film to be made under a different banner. As they were unable to resolve this issue, the project has been put on hold. Another film with Thozha director Vamshi Paidipally too failed to take off. According to reports, Akhil is wary of announcing his films before their official launch. An official announcement will now be made once the project is launched.
