According to a report in Times Of India, the actor will soon begin work on the project. However, no official confirmation was made by the actor or the director. In December last year, Ajay Gnanamuthu told Silverscreen, “Nothing has been confirmed yet. We have just planned to star Vikram sir, and talks are going on. Hopefully, it will be announced officially by the end of this month or in the first week of January.” Reports suggest that an announcement about the film and its team will come in April.

If the film goes as planned, this will be the director’s third film after Demonte Colony (2015) and Imaikka Nodigal (2018). This is Vikram’s first film with the director.

Vikram was last seen in Saamy Square, by director Hari. It released this September and was a sequel to the 2003 film Saamy. His film Dhruva Natchathiram by director Gautham Menon, starring Simran, Parthiban, Aishwarya Rajesh and others, currently awaits release after being delayed because of financial issues.

The actor is presently working on the action thriller Kadaram Kondan, by director Rajesh Selva. The team recently finished their month-long shoot in Malaysia. The film is being produced by Kamal Hassan under Raaj Kamal Films International, and stars Akshara Haasan as the female lead. The teaser of the film was unveiled in January.

Vikram’s film Mahavir Karna went on floors in Hyderabad last week. Said to be one of the most expensive films in cinema, Mahavir Karna is directed by RS Vimal, whose only other directorial was the Malayalam film Ennu Ninte Moideen in 2015. The film was supposed to be made only in Malayalam, but it grew into a Rs 300 crore budget film, which will now be shot as a Tamil-Hindi bilingual, and will release in 32 languages.
