Manoharam is about a man who struggles to cope with life in a digital age. The movie discusses the plight of people whose jobs have become obsolete in the technology-driven era, the director told in a ToI report.

“Right now, technology has opened up several avenues of employment, but it has also depleted certain jobs. As these people are not in the mainstream, not much importance is given to their struggles by those in power. This film tells the story of such a commoner based in Palakkad and how he tries to sustain himself in the modern tech-driven era.”

However, he emphasizes that the movie would be a ‘feel good film.’ And the project will have newcomers in the cast. “We have also selected new artists from the district to be part of the cast because the culture of the place and the people are vital aspects of the story,” Anwar Sadiq added.

The presence of three directors in the cast of the movie makes it noteworthy. Om Shanthi Oshana director Jude Anthony – who did a comical role in Mohanlal’s Velipadinte Pusthakam, and also acted alongside Mammootty in Oru Kuttanadan Blog – will be part of Manoharam.

Anwar Sadiq’s debut venture Ormayundo Ee Mugham was inspired by the Hollywood film 50 First Dates. The movie, starring Vineeth Sreenivasan and Namitha Pramod, had a decent run at the box office.
