Actors Vishal, Arya and Samantha are all set to star in the action thriller, Irumbu Thirai, which will be directed by newcomer Mithran. Yuvan Shankar Raja has been roped in to compose music for the film and George C Williams of Theri fame will be the cinematographer.
Arya will be playing the villain in the film, and he is said to have agreed to be in the film after Vishal asked him to. “Yes, it is true that ‘Vishy’ asked me to be part of his film Irumbu Thirai. It was a decision made by him. How can I say no to my close buddy, who would not think of anything other than the best to offer to me? It’s a testament to our friendship,” he told Deccan Chronicle.

Actors Arya and Vishal are good friends and have had special appearances in each other’s films apart from playing the leads in Bala’s Avan Ivan, where they were seen as half-brothers. When asked if he has a heroine in the film, Arya said, “I don’t think I have a pair actually! But, I don’t know much about the script. It was just that he called and I agreed.”
The inaugural pooja for the film is expected to take place this week. This is the second film that Samantha has signed on this year – after she announced that she will take a break from films for a few months. She will also be paired with Sivakarthikeyan in his next film directed by Ponram. The actress has had five releases in 2016. Vishal is currently shooting for Mysskin’s Thupparivaalan and Arya is working in Raghavan’s Kadamban.
