Vishnu Vishal’s Father and Former DGP Seeks Anticipatory Bail In Case Filed By Soori

Actor Vishnu Vishal’s father and former DGP, Ramesh Kudawla, has moved to the High Court on Saturday seeking anticipatory bail in a case booked against him and film producer Anbuvel Rajan by actor Soori.

Reports state the hearing of the petition will be held next week.

In his bail appeal, Kudawla has said that the police might arrest and ‘compel’ him to admit to the offence, which he has been alleged of, reports The Hindu. He has also said that the transaction was civil in nature which means it would not attract any penal provision under criminal law, the report mentions.

A couple of weeks back, Soori had filed a case with the Adyar police in Chennai, accusing Rajan and Kudawla of defrauding him of Rs two crore 70 lakh. The actor had accused producer Rajan and Kudawla of having received the said amount from him and defrauding him in land issues.

The actor has also alleged that a payment of Rs 40 lakh for acting additional 32 days in the shelved project titled Veera Theera Sooran in 2015, which was supposed to star Vishnu Vishal in the lead role, has not been paid to him.

After the allegations made against his father, Vishnu Vishal had issued a statement saying, “It is so shocking and painful to read such false allegations against me and my father. Obviously vested interests are working. Infact Mr Suri has to refund Vishnu Vishal Studioz an advance paid to him in 2017 for a film Kavarimaan Parambarai which eventually was dropped. We have complete faith in law and judiciary system. It may not be appropriate to elaborate further at this point in time and we will strictly go by what Law permits. Fans and well wishers are requested to await till the moment of truth, emerges. Also request media to report on this with correct facts. Once things are clear I wil take proper action within the limits of law. (sic)”

Soori has shared screen space with Vishnu Vishal in films like Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu, Velainnu Vanthutta Vellaikkaran, and Kathaanaayagan.
