The series will include the rags-to-riches story of Vivek’s character. His character, which originally hails from a poor background, will eventually end up owning a cricket team owing to his stint with cricket betting. Richa Chadda’s character is that of a sports journalist who falls in love with a cricketer. Angad Bedi, who is the son of former Indian cricketer Bishan Singh Bedi, will play the role of a cricketer said to be modeled on Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Gulshan Devaiah will play the role of another cricketer with shades of grey in his character.
Meanwhile, Vivek Oberoi, who was last seen in Great Grand Masti in July, has been preparing for another role in a gangster film called Rai. Directed by Ram Gopal Verma, the film is a biopic on gangster Muthapa Rai from Karnataka. The biopic will delve into Rai’s foray into philanthropy after being involved in murder and extortion cases. Oberoi and Verma are collaborating for a film after a gap of 6 years since 2010’s Rakta Charitra.
