Actor Vivek has requested the PM to declare October 15 (the birthday of APJ Abdul Kalam) as Student’s Day. The ardent Kalam follower tweeted the request this morning:

Vivek was asked by Abdul Kalam a couple of years ago to be the face of his Green Kalam project, an initiative the actor takes very seriously. He has helped plant over 24.5 lakh saplings in the state and hopes to reach his one crore target soon. The actor also spends a significant amount of his time educating students about the benefits of ‘going green’ and also on the evils of global warming.
