The Bollywood production giant Yash Raj Films had been experimenting with small-budget films, starring young actors like Sushant Singh Rajput, Aditya Roy Kapur, and Parineeti Chopra. In the recent past, the production company bankrolled young, romantic films like Shuddh Desi Romance, Daawat E Ishq, and Bewakoofiyan, and Dibakar Banerjee-directed thriller Detective Byomkesh Bakshy.
However, the company has decided to shift its focus back on big budget, big star films, possibly because the small-budget films weren’t as successful as they were hoped to be, said a Bollywood Hungama report. Their forthcoming films are Shah Rukh Khan starrer Fan and Salman Khan starrer Sultan. Also, the company has roped in Hrithik Roshan for its next, tentatively titled Thug.
Yash Raj Films, in the past, has launched some very popular new faces like Anushka Sharma, Ranveer Singh, Parineeti Chopra, and Arjun Kapoor. However, the most successful films of these actors were made by other banners.
