Kannada actor Yash announced that he has resumed shooting for KGF: Chapter 2 on social media.
The actor posted a photo on Instagram and wrote: “Waves can’t be stopped but you can learn to sail..After a long break.. Rocky sets sail from today.”
KGF: Chapter 2 is a sequel to hit Kannada film KGF: Chapter 1, which hit the theatres in 2018. Directed by Prashanth Neel, the sequel, which was supposed to release on October 23, had to be postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
On Wednesday, the film’s producer Karthik Gowda announced that Yash would be joining the shooting from Thursday and that the movie is expected to be wrapped up by the end of October. “@TheNameIsYash joins the final leg of #KGFChapter2 shoot from tomorrow. We will wrap up the film by the end of this month and proceed towards the release. @hombalefilms @VKiragandur @prashanth_neel @SrinidhiShetty7 @bhuvangowda84,” he wrote.
The shooting for KGF: Chapter 2 began on August, after a hiatus of nearly five months. Actors Prakash Raj and Malavika Avinash and several others were reported to have joined the sets.
While the makers are aiming to wrap up shoot by this month, shooting the climax scene depends on the availability of Hindi actor Sanjay Dutt, who would be playing the role of antagonist Adheera. He is currently undergoing treatment for cancer.
Besides Yash and Dutt, KGF: Chapter 2 stars Raveena Tandon, Srinidhi Shetty, Vasista Simha, Saran Shakti and Ananth Nag in prominent roles. While Bhuvan Gowda is in charge of cinematography, Shivakumar would take care of the art. Stunts are being performed by Anbariv.
The sequel would be bankrolled by Vijay Kiragandur for Hombale Films while being jointly presented by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar‘s Excel Entertainment and Anil Thadani’s AA Films in Hindi, and Sai Korrapati’s Vaaraahi Chalana Chitram in Telugu.
The movie will be released in Kannada and will be dubbed in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Hindi.
