The shoot for the talkie portions of Zombie, starring Yogi Babu in the lead, has been wrapped up. With only a song sequence left to be shot, the movie is fast approaching post-production and release.
Talking to Silverscreen, the official spokesperson for the film said, “Though the final date has not been fixed, we are expecting to release it towards the end of May or the beginning of June.” Zombie stars Yaashika Anand, Gopi, Sudhakar, TM Karthik, Manobala, Anbudasan, Bijili Ramesh, John Vijay, Lollu Sabha Manohar and Chitra Akka.
Director Bhuvan R Nallan has reportedly said that the film does not feature a primary protagonist. All the characters will have equal importance in the film. It has been rumoured that Yogi Babu plays a don and Yaashika Anand is a medical college student in the movie.
The movie has been shot across several resorts on ECR. The story is said to be structured as a drama that takes place along the course of a single night. Zombie will the second zombie-thriller in Tamil after the Jayam Ravi starrer Miruthan.
Music for the movie has been composed by Premgi Amaren. It is being jointly produced by Vasanth Mahalingam and V Muthukumar under S3 productions.

Yogi Babu and Yaashika Anand are set to appear together in another movie. Directed by Vinayak Shiva, the horror comedy will be made as a 3D film and will also feature Nikki Tamboli. The movie will reportedly have visual effects technicians who had worked on the Rajinikanth-starrer 2.0.
Meanwhile, Yogi Babu has a slew of projects in the pipeline. The actor is currently shooting for Gurkha and Dharma Prabhu. He was last seen in Airaa. Kuppathu Raja, starring him and GV Prakash, released today.
