Ramya Krishnan told Silverscreen that no confirmation has been made to her knowledge. A source close to Trisha said, “Nothing is finalised yet, nobody has even approached us. I also saw reports regarding this and I think it’s too early to say anything.” However, she suggested that a remake of Badla, the film starring Taapssee Pannu and Amitabh Bachchan, may be on board and talks are on.

The Bollywood film Andhadhun was in the limelight last year following its huge success. Actor Siddharth had expressed his wish to feature in the Tamil remake, and asked fans on Twitter what they thought of this decision. “Quick vote – since it’s on the table already, how many of you want to see me remake this lovely film? I’m very serious,” he wrote.

Ayushmann, who played the lead in the original, also gave his nod.

Following these tweets there were speculations regarding Trisha reprising the role of Radhika Apte from the original. Trisha and Siddharth have acted together in Aaytha Ezhuthu, Aranmanai 2 and the Telugu movie Nuvvosthanande Nenoddantana.

Andhadhun was directed by Sriram Raghavan, who has made dark thrillers like Johnny Gaddar, Badlapur and Ek Hasina Thi. It was co-written Sriram, along with Arijit Biswas, Pooja Ladha Surti, Yogesh Chandekar and Hemanth Rao. The story was about a piano player who becomes involved in the murder of a former actor.

It also recently released in China as Piano Player, and earned over 200 crores. Inspired by the French short film L’Accordeur, the movie starred yesteryear actor Anil Dhawan, and collected more than 100 crores in India. The music for the movie was by Amit Trivedi, and cinematography by KU Mohanan.
