Director Atlee and Shah Rukh Khan will mostly be collaborating for a film. They watched an IPL match together recently. Before the match Shah Rukh visited Atlee at his office which lead to a huge buzz about a possible collaboration.
A source close to the director told Silverscreen, “They haven’t finalised the project yet, but talks are on. It’s in initial stages.” Speculations regarding SRK having a cameo role in Atlee-Vijay’s Thalapathy 63 are not true. The project being a Hindi remake of Mersal is also not true. An official announcement can be expected in a few weeks.
Pictures of Shah Rukh Khan and Atlee have been going viral on social media since the match. Shah Rukh was in Chennai for an Indian Premiere League match, to support his team Kolkata Knight Riders who played against CSK at Chepauk. Before the match, SRK met Atlee at his office.

Shah Rukh Khan’s last Tamil film was Ra.One, before which he has acted in Dil Se and Hey Ram. If this project is a Hindi film as speculated, it will mark Atlee’s Bollywood debut. He reportedly showed two of his film scrips to SRK, who has expressed interest to work on one of them.
Meanwhile, it has been confirmed that Thalapathy 63 is a sports film and a huge football set has been constructed in Chennai’s East Coast Road for the movie. Indhuja Ravichandran has joined Vijay, Nayanthara, Kathir and others in the cast. Her character is yet to be confirmed.

Music for the film is by AR Rahman, Vivek is the lyricist. Soundara Raja, Vivekh, Yogi Babu, Kapish Poovaiyaar are part of the cast. It is produced by Archana Kalapthi under the banner of AGS Entertainments. Sun TV has acquired the distribution rights.
Thalapathy 63 is Atlee’s third film with Vijay after Theri and Mersal, both big-budget movies. Shooting is currently on at the football sets which reportedly cost the team Rs 6 crore, and this worked out cheaper than hiring a football ground for a 50-day schedule.
A first-look poster and the title is expected to release on April 14.
