Jayam Ravi announced his 24th film with Vels International Films on his birthday. The production house had unveiled a promotional campaign earlier this year asking the audience on social media to guess the hero of its new venture. Jayam Ravi was revealed as the mystery hero on Monday.
Vels International’s Isari Ganesh can be seen in the video talking to debut director Pradeep Ranganathan about the cast and crew and the film’s budget. Towards the end of the video, Jayam Ravi is seen discussing the project with the director. The video mentions that the actor has to reduce 20 kgs for his role in the project.
Isari Ganesh confirmed the news and said that only Jayam Ravi is suited for the role. “When Pradeep and I informed Ravi about the film and his role, he was thrilled to come on board. He didn’t even bat an eye when we said that he has to lose about 20 to 25 kgs for the role.”

Jayam Ravi’s spokesperson said that the actor had enjoyed Pradeep Ranganathan’s short film, App(a) Lock, and had expressed an interest in working with him. “It’s not just about the physical transformation. The character comes with a vast emotional range.”
Meanwhile, Isari Ganesh and director Pradeep Ranganathan are busy casting the other characters of the film. “We are still in the process of finalising the female lead and the music director. We will make an official announcement soon,” Ganesh said.
Initial reports suggest that Harris Jayaraj is a strong contender to compose the music for the film. Kajal Aggarwal is being considered for the female lead.
