Kangana Ranaut-starrer Panga will release on January 24 next year. The movie, directed by Bareily Ki Barfi-fame Ashwini Iyer Tiwari, also stars Jassi Gil, Pankaj Tripathi and Richa Chadda.
Panga is a sports drama featuring Ranaut in the role of a Kabbadi player. The movie was announced in August 2018.
The first schedule of the movie was completed in December. Ashwiny was quoted in an HT report as saying “Kangana and I share a beautiful relationship and I have had the best time ever when I was shooting the first schedule of Panga. And the love is just going to increase. It is not just with her, it is with Richa Chadha, Neena Gupta ma’am and Jassi Gill. Pankaj Tripathi will join us in a few days. It is a very different environment and we are having a great time.”

Kangana, who released her Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi on January 26, was engaged in a tussle with Krish Jagarlamundi over directorial credits. The director had accused her of hijacking his movie.
It was rumoured that Ashwiny had got Kangana to sign a ‘no-interference’ clause to prevent similar incidents. But, a ToI report said the director refuted these claims. “As directors and actors, our happiness is your appreciation. For me, Panga is a story which I wanted to tell. A story very close to my heart and I could see only Kangana bringing life to the character. I request everyone to not be judgemental… The news which has been floating around is false and baseless, which should not be allowed to grow,” she said.
Kangana Ranaut will be next seen opposite Rajkummar Rao in Mental Hai Kya.
