The film stars Aravind Swami, Shriya Saran, Aathmika, Sundeep Kishan and Indrajith Sukumaran in the lead. Going by the trailer released earlier, the film looks to be a thriller based on a myth in a village in the Nilgiris. The film will unveil the mystery about the ‘Naragasooran’ myth.

“The production of the film was completed in 41 days. But the major highlight is that, till date, all the characters know just about their roles; not about the film in its totality. The director and assistant director have maintained the suspense till date,” says actor-producer Venkat.

Talking about the film and his experience making it, director Karthick Naren, who went through trauma when the film was stuck in limbo, says: “It is a blessing that there was no interference from the artistes when it came to the script. Also, they were very cooperative even though we shot at night and it can get really cold in Ooty. There was the fear of animal presence too. We struggled hard to bring this film out, and it’s finally ready to be seen by the audience, after all the conflict.”

As reported earlier, there was an unsavoury battle of tweets between the film’s erstwhile producer Gautham Vasudev Menon and the director. Speaking about it, Karthick had said: “Gautham Vasudev Menon approached me after seeing Duruvangal Pathinaaru and asked me if there was any script where we could work together. Due to financial reasons, he opted out, and Badri Kasturi Sir took over. How we do we react when someone we like does such things? My outburst was similar. The issue is now being addressed in the Tamil Film Producers Council, and I don’t want to comment on it now.”

Produced by Badri Kasturi under the banner Shraddha Entertainment, the film has music by Ron Ethan Yohann of Maaya fame. The director has also announced his next film, Nadaga Medai, with the same production house.

Speaking about Nadaga Medai, he told Silverscreen that “the film will have a completely different tone from my previous two films, and is a light-hearted entertainer. I’ll speak about it in detail after Naragasooran‘s release.”
