Shah Rukh Khan Not Part Of Thalapathy63

Contrary to rumours, Shah Rukh Khan does not have a cameo in Atlee-Vijay’s Thalapathy63.

Earlier today, Indiaglitz reported that a huge set of Gurugram police station was erected in Royapetta as part of the shooting. Along with this producer Archana Kalpathy, editor Ruben and director Atlee had started following the actor on Twitter. These two activities led people to believe that the Bollywood star was part of the movie and would be playing a cop.

Talking to Silverscreen, the official spokesperson for the movie dismissed these claims as rumours saying “Shah Rukh Khan is definitely not part of the project.”

The shooting for the movie is currently underway with Nayanthara in the female lead. While Shah Rukh Khan is not part of the movie, Jackie Shroff, another Bollywood actor, was confirmed to be part of the project last week. AGS Entertainment, the studio bankrolling the film, confirmed Jackie Shroff’s participation with a tweet. The actor made his Tamil debut in 2011 with Thiagaraja Kumararaja’s Aaranya Kaandam, and went on to star in Rajinikanth’s animation movie Kochadaiyaan, and director CV Kumar’s Maayavan.

The pre-production activities for Thalapathy63 began in November 2018, after a pooja at Binny Mills, Perambur. The shooting for the film started in Chennai this January. The movie marks the third collaboration between Atlee and Vijay after Theri and Mersal.

Vijay is rumoured to be playing a sports coach in the film. A TimesNow report says that his character is called Michael, and he is a footballer from North Chennai. According to another report, Vijay practised under a trainer for the role.

In January, the makers announced that Kathir would star in the movie. Super Singer participant Kapish Poovaiyaar, actors Vivek, Yogi Babu, Daniel Balaji and Anand Raj are part of the cast. Politician-turned-actor Nanjil Sampath was also approached for a role. Sampath made his acting debut in RJ Balaji’s recently released LKG, where he played Balaji’s father.

It was earlier reported that 16 new actresses had joined the film’s cast, and special training sessions were carried out to prepare for the sports scenes featuring them. However, there has been no official confirmation from the makers about this.

A.R. Rahman is the music composer for the project, and Vivek is the lyricist. As for the rest of the crew, Atlee has chosen the Mersal team, including editor Antony Ruben, stunt director Anal Arasu and art director Muthuraj.
