Actor Sivakarthikeyan, who turned producer with Aishwarya Rajesh’s Kanaa, is all set for his next production venture directed by debutant Karthik Venugopalan.
The film is said to be a fun filled family entertainer with social message, and went on floors yesterday. It is said that the talks are ongoing with more familiar actors and technicians for this film. An official announcement will follow soon.

Starring VJ Rio and Telugu actress Sherin Kanchwala of Desa Dimmari fame in the lead, the film is scheduled for release by the end of the year 2018. The film also stars Radha Ravi, RJ Vigneshkanth and politician Nanjil Sampath playing pivotal roles. This is the second film for the politician, who was earlier roped in for RJ Balaji’s political satire and black comedy LKG.
The cinematographer is UK Senthil Kumar, while Fenny Oliver will edit the film. Fenny had previously worked for Hiphop Tamizha Aadhi’s Meesaya Murukku. Art for this film is by Kamalnathan
The film was earlier announced by actor Sivakarthikeyan at the audio launch of Kanaa in August. On choosing the film, Sivakarthikeyan said, “We liked the team and their idea which sounded like a lot of fun, and had an element of social message.”

The film’s director Karthik Venugopalan is a popular YouTuber who gained fame through his channel Black Sheep Tamil. While VJ Rio, who began his career in Vijay TV in Kana Kaanum Kaalangal and then worked as an anchor in Sun Music, attained fame with the serial Saravanan Meenakshi.
Meanwhile, Sivakarthikeyan’s first production Kanaa, which marks the directorial debut of lyricist-turned-filmmaker Arunraja Kamaraj is gearing up for it’s release in December. The film is a sports drama set against a rural backdrop. It revolves around a village girl who dreams of becoming a cricketer, but is criticised by the people around her. Aishwarya Rajesh, who is known for her rooted characters, will be playing a cricketer, while Sathyaraj plays her father who is a farmer.
Apart from the leads, the film also stars Blade Shankar, Ilavarasu, Ramadoss, Rama and Savari Muthu in pivotal roles while Sivakarthikeyan plays a cameo. The actor has also sung the track ‘Vayadi Petha Pulla’ along with his daughter Aaradhana. Music for the film has been composed by Dhibu Ninan Thomas of Marakatha Nanaiyam fame, and the album features a romantic love song Othaiyadi Paadhaiyila sung by Anirudh Ravichander.
