Vijay Deverakonda At The 'Dear Comrade' Press Meet

Vijay Deverakonda’s production venture ‘King of the Hill’ will make Meeku Maathrame Cheptha, (I’ll tell only you), a Telugu film starring Tharun Bhascker in the lead. Notably, Tharun was the director of Deverakonda and Ritu Varma starrer Pelli Choopului, a romantic comedy that won critical acclaim and saw commercial success. Bhascker has acted in Falaknuma DasSammohanam and Mahanati, previously.

Deverakonda tweeted the announcement along with a video and a message. He said, “While we were finding it painfully hard to break into the industry and make a film, I decided, the day I make it, I’ll start a production house. I realise how hard it is to do this and how risky, but what is life without a challenge, so with most of my savings on the line I reveal to you King Of The Hill’s 1st Production Title!”

According to a report in The Times of India, the film is a tragicomedy and will star Avantika Mishra who’s acted in Telugu films such as Maaya and Vyshakam.  Avantika it is reported plays an aspiring actor in the film. “I got nostalgic while shooting for this film as the entire process reminded me of my experiences as an aspiring actress. I could bring out all such emotions in this role,” another article quoted her as saying.

Deverakonda was last seen in Dear Comrade, and will act in Puri Jagannadh’s ‘entertainer’ that has been named Fighter, next. An official announcement of the title is awaited.

The ‘first look’ poster of the film is also out now.
