Kirumi Audio Launch Photos And Report

Two things invariably happen at every audio launch in Sathyam Cinemas – they start late, and they finish in a hurry. The Kirumi audio launch was no exception. Chief Guest Vijay Sethupathi arrived ahead of schedule though and patiently posed for pictures. Two people flanked his side, constantly managing the excited crowd. Reshmi Menon deflected the barrage of questions from journalists about rumours of an impending marriage with Bobby Simha, with a simple: “Let’s not talk about it, its personal.”

The trailer and the songs went down well with the audience, as did the unplugged performance by music director Kay and Gaana Baala. The singer admitted that this film marked a high note for him, given that he had just received the best payout of his career.

Actor Charlie, who plays a key role in the film, played more than a key role at the event, speaking for nearly thirty minutes. He praised Kadhir for his acting and Reshmi Menon for accepting a gutsy role. In stark contrast, Vijay Sethupathi promised not to ‘put mokka‘, and followed through with a short and sweet speech about how impressed he was with the film. Veteran director SP Muthuraman, in a trademark thoughtful gesture, made it a point to wish every crew member well. Director Anucharan and Manikandan spoke about how the movie would be intriguing and different, and requested the media to support the film. The bonhomie and appreciation ended suddenly, though not surprisingly, with the blaring of walkie-talkies, requesting organizers to conclude the event, and allow arrangements for the noon show to begin.

Kirumi is directed by debutante Anucharan, and stars Kadhir and Reshmi Menon. The story and screenplay were written by Manikandan of Kaakka Muttai fame. The movie was produced by JPR films, and has on board music director Kay and cinematographer Arul Vincent.
