Narrated by Emmy Award winner Jeff Daniels (The Looming Tower, The Comey Rule), the documentary tells the story of the 9/11 attack through the eyes of the presidency, with access to key decision-makers.

9/11: Inside the President’s War Room recounts the 12 hours after the strike, offering an insight into the dilemmas of decision-making against the clock, as those involved provide intimate details for the first time, mentioned the press release from Apple TV+.

The documentary special will feature testimony of the then President George W Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney, Condoleezza Rice (national security advisor), Colin Powell (secretary of state), and Karl Rove (senior advisor to the president), among others.

It will also feature nearly 200 never-previously-published photographs as well as archive film, added the press release.

On the morning of September 11, 2001, there were a series of four coordinated terrorist attacks by the terrorist group Al-Qaeda led by Osama bin Laden against the United States. Four flights were hijacked by 19 terrorists. The first two hit the twin towers of the World Trade Centre followed by a third flight crashing into the Pentagon and the fourth, whose target was later surmised to be the White House or the Capitol Hill, crashing midway over a field. The attack led to the death of thousands and serious international ramifications for years to come.

9/11: Inside the President’s War Room is directed by writer and documentary filmmaker Adam Wishart, who has previously been part of various productions for BBC.

Emmy Award-winning creative producer Simon Finch and BAFTA Award-winning executive producer Neil Grant are part of the team bringing 9/11: Inside the President’s War Room to the screen.
