The case will be heard on October 1.

According to the report, the lawyer who filed the complaint said, “The Kapil Sharma Show aired on Sony TV is very sloppy. In one of the episodes, a court was set up on the stage and the actors are seen drinking alcohol in public. This is contempt of court. That’s why I have demanded registration of FIR against the culprits under Section 356/3 in the court. Such display of sloppiness should be stopped.”

The lawyer further said the scene brought disgrace to the court.

The report states that the case was filed in reference to an episode that aired on January 19, 2020, and had a repeat telecast on April 24, 2021.

According to a report in the Indian Express, the lawyer also claimed that the comedy show has made offensive content in the past as well and shared lewd comments about women. He further claimed that he had earlier approached the Collector and Superintendent of Police to register a case against the show’s makers.
