‘Locke & Key Season 2’, ‘One Mic Stand’ & More – 7 New OTT Releases This Week

With the reopening of theatres in Maharashtra on Friday and the release of filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s cop action-drama Sooryavanshi, starring Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif, on November 4, the theatre scene in India is slowly attaining normalcy.

Several newly released films seem to be doing well at the box office. Actor Sivakarthikeyan’s Doctor collected around Rs 24 crore over three days in Tamil Nadu. Hollywood film Venom: Let There Be Carnage collected Rs 12 crores during the four-day Dussehra weekend, the highest opening weekend box-office earnings for a Hollywood film in India amidst the pandemic.

Even as several films are releasing in theatres and raking in good box office collections, several others continue to release on OTT platforms every week. Here are seven new films and shows releasing on OTT platforms this week.

1. Heads & Tales (October 22) – Zee5

According to the official synopsis, Heads & Tales revolves around three women and the problems they face from the men in their lives. The story is about how they confront those problems and find solutions.

2. Locke and Key Season 2 (October 22) – Netflix

In Locke And Key, three siblings move to their mother’s ancestral house after their father’s death. They soon discover magical keys that unlock powers and secrets.

3. Inside Job (October 22) – Netflix

The animated film revolves around an awkward genius and her dysfunctional workers, who have to manage the world’s conspiracies.

4. One Mic Stand Season 2 (October 22) – Amazon Prime Video

One Mic Stand is a show where Indian celebrities are trained by top comedians to perform stand-up comedy for their very first time. According to the official announcement, season 2 features an ensemble of celebrity guests such as filmmaker Karan Johar, actor and entrepreneur Sunny Leone, rapper Raftaar, journalist Faye D’souza and author Chetan Bhagat attempting stand-up comedy for the first time.

5. The Raincoat Killer: Chasing a Predator in Korea (October 22) – Netflix

Netflix documentary series The Raincoat Killer: Chasing a Predator in Korea traces the steps of Yoo Young-chul, a notorious serial killer who came to light as a psychopath to the Korean public in 2004. The show will examine the events through archival footage and numerous interviews with the people directly involved with the case.

6. Komi Can’t Communicate (October 21) – Netflix

Based on the manga series of the same name, Komi Can’t Communicate revolves around Hitohito Tadano, who resolves to help his shy and unsociable classmate Shouko Komi with her goal of making one hundred friends so that she can overcome her communication disorder.

7. Indu (October 22) – Hoichoi

In Indu, the titular character gets married and enters a new phase in her life. However, the dark secrets of her new home and new family threaten to endanger her life.
