Netflix’s YOU Begins Production of Season 3

The production of the third season of Netflix’s YOU has begun, the streaming platform announced on Twitter on Monday. 

The OTT platform’s social media team made the announcement by posting a picture of the lead character Joe Goldberg, captioning it: “We recommend you stay at least 6 feet from Joe Goldberg at all times. YOU Season 3 is back in production”.

The lead character of Goldberg has been portrayed by American actor Penn Badgley. His co-star Elizabeth Lail plays Guinevere Beck and Victoria Pedretti stars as Love Quinn.

In season one, Gianni Ciardiello portrayed the role of the teenage Joe and in season two, Aidan Wallace Portrayed him as the child.

Bankrolled by Warner Horizon Television in association with Alloy Entertainment and A&E Studios and developed by Greg Berlanti and Sera Gamble, YOU is an American psychological thriller series.

The first season of this crime drama is based on the 2014 novel YOU written by Caroline Kepnes. It began streaming on Netflix from December 2018. Following its popularity, the makers decided to make the second season which is based on Kepnes’ follow-up novel Hidden Bodies. The second season released last December.

The story is narrated by Joe, a bookstore manager at Mooney’s, who starts stalking and then dating Guinevere in the first season. He eventually turns into a serial killer.

The second season shows Joe disguised as Will Bettelheim who works as a bookstore clerk at Anavrin and eventually stalks and dates Love.

Although the production was supposed to start earlier this year, it was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Both Badgley and Pedretti will be reprising their roles.
