Developed by John Carney, the American romantic comedy anthology, which has seen two seasons, revolves around tales of love and longing that are inspired by personal essays from the New York Times’ popular column of the same name.

Its upcoming Indian adaptation will be helmed by several noteworthy directors, including Hansal Mehta, Vishal Bhardwaj, Anjali Menon, Alankrita Shrivastava, Dhruv Sehgal, and Shonali Bose.

According to a press release, just as the original anthology series explores love in all of its complicated and beautiful forms with each episode bringing to life a different story, the Indian version will have a “similar, yet fresh” concept with the various stories presented as individual episodes.

The press note further adds that each of the actors announced will lead a different director’s story in the anthology.

The American show featured actors like Anne Hathaway, Kit Harrington, Dev Patel, Tina Fey, Tobias Menezies, and Andrew Scott, among many others, in the various segments.

The Indian series was shot late in 2021 and is expected to release soon on the OTT platform, as per the press release.

Meanwhile, Gandhi, who made his streaming debut with Scam 1992, will also be seen in another upcoming OTT project titled The Great Indian Murder, alongside Richa Chadha. The Disney+ Hotstar show is directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia and is based on Vikas Swarup’s bestselling novel Six Suspects.
