What’s New This Week: 10 Films and Shows Releasing on OTT Platforms This Week

Theatres in India have slowly been regaining their lost ground with the Ministry of Home Affairs permitting cinema halls in the country to operate at full seating capacity.

While many films are choosing theatrical releases, there has been a consistent flow of content on OTT platforms as well.

Here are 10 films and shows releasing on OTT platforms from February 4 to February 11.

1. Malcolm & Marie – Netflix (February 5)

Starring Zendaya and John David Washington, Malcolm & Marie is a black and white romantic drama in which a filmmaker (Washington) and his girlfriend (Zendaya) return home following a celebratory movie premiere as he awaits what’s sure to be imminent critical and financial success. The evening suddenly takes a turn as revelations about their relationships begin to surface, testing the strength of their love.

2. Space Sweepers – Netflix (February 5)

Space Sweepers, directed by Jo Sung-hee and produced by Bidangil Pictures, depicts in vivid detail, the crew of a cosmic waste management spacecraft who discover a 7-year-old girl robot, named Dorothy. They realise that she’s a robot wanted by UTS Space Guards, and decide to demand ransom in exchange.

3. Invisible City – Netflix (February 5)

This Brazilian television drama is about a man who discovers mythical creatures living among humans after a family tragedy. He soon realises that they hold the key to his mysterious past.

4. Crime Scene: The Vanishing At The Cecil Hotel

From the creator of The Ted Bundy Tapes, Crime Scene: The Vanishing At The Cecil Hotel is a documentary series that takes a dive into crime’s darkest places. The notorious Cecil Hotel grows in infamy when a guest, Elisa Lam, vanishes.

5. Bliss – Amazon Prime Video (February 5)

Bliss, starring Owen Wilson and Salma Hayek, is about an unfulfilled man and a mysterious woman who believe they are living in a simulated reality. However, when their newfound ‘bliss’ world begins to bleed into the ‘ugly’ world, they must decide what’s real and where they truly belong.

6. Lahore Confidential

Directed by Kunal Kohli, Lahore Confidential is a spy thriller that revolves around RAW agent Ananya, who crosses path with a charming ISI agent. The film stars Richa Chadha, Arunoday Singh, Karishma Tanna, and Khalid Siddiqui.

7. LSD – Love, Scandal & Doctors

LSD- Love, Scandal & Doctors is a medical thriller about five aspiring doctors who become the prime suspects in a murder investigation.

8. Misadventure of Heidi and Cokeman

En Passant Pécho or Misadventure of Heidi and Cokeman is a French web series set in Paris, where two dysfunctional dealers use family ties to boost their small drug business.

9. Layla Majnun

Layla Majnun revolves around Layla, an Indonesian scholar, who falls for Samir, an admirer of her work. However, her arranged marriage stands in the way of their love.

10. Red Dot

The film follows David (Anastasios Soulis) and Nadja (Nanna Blondell), a couple in their late twenties, who’ve been struggling with their marriage. When Nadja becomes pregnant, they make an attempt to rekindle their relationship and decide to travel to the magnificent expanses in the north of Sweden for a ski hike. Soon, a red laser dot appears in their tent and they are quickly forced to flee into the cold, unforgiving wilderness. Totally isolated in the mountains, they are now being pursued by reckless shooters.
