Amala Paul Replaces Samantha In Vada Chennai

Amala Paul will play a major role in Vada Chennai. The actress has been signed to play the role originally intended for Samantha Ruth Prabhu. A spokesperson for Samantha has said that the actress couldn’t allot bulk dates for the film, “At first, Samantha was informed that Vada Chennai will be completed in single part. After Samantha backed out of the project, Amala has reportedly been roped in. Both actresses have previously acted opposite Dhanush – Samantha Ruth Prabhu in Thangamagan, and Amala Paul in Velaiyilla Pattathari.  A source close to the director has confirmed the actress’ inclusion in the project, “Amala was a natural choice for the role. Once we knew Samantha was no longer in the project, we approached her.”

The film is currently being shot in Chennai, and is part of a trilogy. Directed by Vetrimaaran, the film has music by Santhosh Narayanan and also stars Andrea Jeremiah.
