Udhayanidhi Stalin will soon act in a film directed by debutant Thalapathy Prabhu, featuring Nivetha Pethuraj as the female lead and actor Parthiepan in a major role. The film is reportedly set in rural Tamil Nadu and will commence shooting on 19 September.
Sri Thenandal Films will be bankrolling the film, with details about the film yet to be disclosed. The production company took to Twitter to announce the news of this forthcoming project.

Music composer D Imman, who has been on a roll this year with more than 15 projects in 2016 alone, will be composing the music for this film, too. He is also working on another Udhayanidhi Stalin-starrer directed by Ezhil.
The announcement of this film comes soon after Udhayanidhi had announced his film with director Ezhil of Thulladha Manamum Thullum fame. The film with Ezhil, whose shooting began towards the end of August, is gearing up to release this Christmas, shooting in locations in and around Karaikal, Puducherry.

He will follow up his critically acclaimed movie, Manithan, with a Gaurav Narayanan directorial. He also has an untitled movie with director Suseenthiran, in which he will be seen alongside actor Vishnu Vishal.
Meanwhile, R Parthiepan, who was last seen in 2015’s Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, hasn’t had a single release this year. Recently, he began filming for his next film Koditta Idangalai Nirapuga which he will also direct. The film’s title was revealed on 14 July.
Parthiepan also has two other projects in the pipeline. One is with Vishnu Vishal and Sri Divya in a film directed by Suseenthiran called Maaveeran Kittu. Parthiepan plays a supporting role in the film. The film is known to be based on true events. The other film, Thittam Poattu Thirudura Kootam, is with debutant director Sai Sudarshan starring actor Chandran of Kayal fame, and Satna Titus in the lead. The film was officially launched on 15 July.
