Vishal CBFC GST

Vishal and Prakash Raj travelled to Delhi to meet the agitating farmers from Tamil Nadu who’ve been protesting the Government’s drought relief package. The two actors, who lent their support to the cause, believe the Government will listen to their voice, according to a story in Business Standard

The Central Government had announced a relief package of Rs. 1748 crore for farmers affected by the drought – the worst in many years. However, the farmers along the Cauvery river – from Trichy and Thanjavur mainly, have alleged that this is grossly insufficient. Further, they’ve demanded that the Government write off their loans – secured at various central co-operative banks and institutions. According to a report in the Hindustan Times, about 100 farmers have been protesting at the Jantar Mantar in Delhi, carrying the skulls of other dead farmers.

Also joining Prakash Raj and Vishal is director Pandiraj. While it is said that music director GV Prakash also supports the cause, we are not sure if he’s travelled to Delhi.
