Gautham Menon Likely To Revive Dhuruvanatchathiram With Vikram

Gautham Menon, who had confirmed that he was in talks with Vikram for a film, is reviving his spy thriller Dhuruvanatchathiram with the actor, according to reports. “It’s true that Gautham is reviving Dhruva Natchathiram with Vikram. An official announcement can be expected in a week’s time. This project is going to be made on an international scale. The makers are currently busy assembling the team,” a source close to the director told IANS.

Dhuruva Natchathiram will be made along the lines of the Jason Bourne series. Reportedly, Menon is trying to rope in a Bollywood actor for an important role. The film will mostly be shot in the USA.

Dhuruvanatchathiram had originally been planned in 2013 with Suriya in the lead. But Suriya pulled out of the project once it became apparent that the film wasn’t taking off. At that time, Suriya had said: “I would like to mention that all I have been asking is a complete story line and bound script which only fair to be provided to an actor. Now, it has come to a point where I have lost valuable time and cannot afford to wait any further. Hence with deep sense of pain I have taken the decision to exit the project.” Gautham Menon subsequently went on to make Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada (then titled ‘Sattendru Marudhu Vaanilai’) with STR.

Earlier this month at AYM’s press meet, Menon said, “Suriya did not like the script of Dhuruva Natchathiram. He felt the film was too international to be made in Tamil. We may do it in a later point of time.”

Dhuruva Natchathiram is expected to go on the floors in March 2017, with Ondraga Entertainment producing the film along with another leading production house. Vikram will begin work on this film after he wraps up his next project with director Vijay Chander.
