Actress Radhika Sarathkumar took to Twitter to question the irregularities in the removal of Sarath Kumar and Radha Ravi from the Nadigar Sangam.
It was announced recently that former Nadigar Sangam president R. Sarathkumar and former general secretary Radha Ravi were permanently removed from the Nadigar Sangam. At the annual general body meeting of the Nadigar Sangam on Sunday, general secretary actor Vishal announced that it has also been decided to revoke their memberships of the Council.
Vishal also asked the members present if the Sangam must take action against Sarath Kumar and Radha Ravi, who have been accused of embezzlement.
Vishal said, “It is not our intention to take a confrontational stance, but this needs to be done, even though we are saddened by this.”
Radhika commented on the violence that took place at the venue of the meeting :

And then Radhika decided to question the Nadigar Sangam on the many irregularities in the decision.

While actor Radha Ravi has said that he is ready to face the issue in court, Sarath Kumar called the move ‘illegal’. In a press statement, Sarath said that while his request to stay his temporary suspension from the Sangam is still in court, the permanent expulsion is not valid.

The Madras High Court has suspended the case filed by Radha Ravi and Sarath Kumar against their temporary suspension, stating that since they have been permanently removed from the Sangam, they will have to file a fresh case.
Meanwhile, the actual meeting was not short of drama. A fight broke out when a couple of members were not given entry to the venue, and two factions locked horns even amid tight security. The window pane of the car of Karunaas, MLA and Nadigar Sangam Vice President, was broken in the clash and his supporters allegedly hit back with vengeance. The police cleared the mob after a lathi charge and several people were arrested.
Moreover, Vishal’s office at Vadapalani was attacked by unidentified miscreants on Sunday evening. The actor’s car is said to have been damaged. A case has been filed at the Virugambakkam Police Station.
